This sketchbook, prepared after the war, contains approximately 100 pen and ink sketches depicting Civil War army life, battles, prison conditions, equipment and military dress. It also includes miscellaneous poems, quotations and civil and military facts including an essay titled "Army Life of Regulars," a brief history of the 11th Illinois Infantry, and copies of general orders and letters of Brigadier General T. E. Ransom.
