- Evan Howell Collection
George Evan Howell served in the United States House of Representatives as part of the Illinois delegation from 1941-1947. President Harry S. Truman nominated Howell as a judge on the United States Court of Claims in 1947. Howell remained in this position until resigning in 1953. He went on to serve on the Illinois State Toll Highway Commission before resigning to return to practicing private law.
Photographs in this collection include headshots of several politicians including Everett Dirksen, Leslie Arends, Leo, Allen, C. W. Bishop, High Corss, and J. Harry McGregor. The collection also includes group photographs of politicians with Richard Nixon and members of the Illinois delegation to the United States House of Representatives.
