A letter written about General Daniel Cameron by his daughter Annie Cameron Peet, dated January 29, 1924. The letter states that she is donating the photograph of Cameron to Memorial Hall in Springfield, Illinois.

In a letter to his brother Ezra, Albert H. Higinbotham of the 65th Illinois Infantry writes from Camp Douglas (Chicago) on December 28, 1862:

"I have not heard from home in some time I suppose I should had I been here in Camp all of the time I have been on detached service most of the time for the past two months a hunting up Deserters I have been to Iowa two trips and various other places in this state..."
