Prisoners at Andersonville
Cabinet card: William C. Funk, 21st Illinois Infantry, Company F, was an unmarried schoolteacher from Exeter, Scott County, Illinois. He enlisted July 9, 1861, was taken prisoner at the Battle of Chickamauga on September 20, 1863, and died at Andersonville, Georgia on September 8, 1864.
Cabinet card: Lewis L. Lehmann, 86th Illinois Infantry, Company B. This German-born clerk was also captured at Chickamauga. He was imprisoned first at Richmond, Virginia for three months, then at Danville, Virginia for four months, and finally at Andersonville, Georgia for eleven and a half months. He was paroled at Vicksburg in 1865.
